THE NEED

Yes, preventive measures and services are helping famlilies stay together!
Yes, children are being reunified with healed families!
Yes, services are being provided to prepare youth for aging out!
"Then", you ask, "why is the need still so great?"

Opoid and other drug use continues to escalate and Drug Abuse (Parent) is the primary reason children come into care, followed by Domestic Violence, and Physical Abuse. (You can view full statistics here)

Quite simply, the number of new children entering "out-of-home care" each month necessitates the need for more foster parents.

*Children entering out-of-home care in Palm Beach County
"Every statistical number above is a CHILD who has experienced trauma prior to being "removed" from their home and is now in the Foster Care System. Each of these children need a loving, caring parent to help them heal and grow."
  •  As of August 2019 in Palm Beach County, there were 1187 children in out-of-home care with a total number of 1693 under DCF supervision.
  • As of March 2019 (latest report), there were 272 foster homes in Palm Beach County.

A SOLUTION

Sharing the vision of Florida's Faith-Based and Community-Based Advisory Council to maximize the collaboration between faith-based and community organizations and State agencies to help strengthen individuals and families,  we have partnered with Palm Beach County Unites for Children, making it easy for faith-based organizations to help solve the Foster Home Crisis through free, easy to distribute booksmarks, bulletin inserts, flyers, social media graphics, presentations, and videos!

We can also connect you with two licensing agencies focusing their efforts on faith-based solutions: 4Kids of South Florida and Place of Hope.  4Kids of South Florida also has a program where groups can wraparound a family willing to foster.  In addition to fostering children, we offer information on adoption, child advocacy through the Guardian ad Litem Program, and mentoring through Children's Home Society's Project 18 or Model Mentoring Program.
